Arsene Wenger confirms debut for new signing Bielik

Arsenal’s Krystian Bielik will make his first appearance for the club in an under-21 game next week, Arsene Wenger has told the club’s official website.

Bielik was Arsenal’s first January signing, bought from Polish side Legia Warsaw where he had already broken into the first team at just 17-years-old.

Bought as one for the future, Arsene Wenger is impressed with his progress since joining the club, and is keen to get a first look at him in action in just a matter of days.

Answering a question about when German winger Serge Gnabry would return to action, Wenger responded:

“Serge will play on Monday night at Newcastle, with Bielik. Bielik is coming along very well.”

If Bielik is in any way able to play a part for Arsenal this season, then bringing him in early will make the club’s mid-season transfer business look particularly impressive.

The Gunners have been founding wanting in the defensive midfield position this season, certainly until Francis Coquelin’s emergence upon his return from being out on loan at Charlton Athletic.

Being able to add another tenacious and talented midfielder into the mix will be of real benefit to the club making good on their desire to achieve their goals in the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League.

Arsenal’s under-21s are fourth in their league, but Bielik and co will face big test on Monday, the Newcastle side they play sit top of the division.

The big advantage in their favour is likely to be Newcastle will have five players of that team absent, having been shipped out on loan to Rangers on transfer deadline day.
