Yesterday, Battlefield 4 multiplayer was down for several hours due to apparent DDOS attack on EA Online servers. The game is down again today — as of now, both the stats server and multiplayer servers are offline.
This is likely due to a DDOS attack by a group called the Lizard Squad, who have taken responsibility for the ongoing attacks against Sony’s PlayStation Network and Microsoft’s Xbox Live.
PSN and Xbox Live were down all day yesterday. Xbox Live was restored earlier today, while PSN is still down for most users .
Battlefield was offline yesterday morning, but EA managed to get servers back up for the rest of the day. So far we haven’t gotten an official statement from EA, but there have been forum posts on Battlelog from EA officials with status updates on the situation, saying that they are “looking into the issue”.
This couldn’t have come at a worse time, as there is likely a lot of new players who got Battlefield 4 for Christmas and are eager to play. Hopefully the issue will be resolved soon.
