A caretaker was arrested in Valley Arcade, Nairobi on Sunday for allegedly growing bhang on the compound of a house he takes care of.

The unnamed caretaker however claimed that the bhang, valued at Sh2 million, belongs to the owner of the house.

A suspicious neighbour reported the matter to officers at Muthangari police station leading to the arrest, Dagoretti DCIO Joseph Ondoro said.

The neighbour became doubtful after the caretaker refused to let him into the compound when he went to collect an iron he had borrowed.

The police forcefully entered the compound finding the bhang grown alongside maize on the one-acre piece of land.

A search for the homeowner is ongoing.
