Troubled actress Danniella Westbrook has become the latest name to be linked with a spot in the Celebrity Big Brother house.
According to reports the former EastEnders star – who admitted earlier this week that she is living in sheltered accommodation and using food banks to survive – is keen to join the series when it returns next month in the wake of her financial woes.
‘Danniella sees Celebrity Big Brother as her only option now,’ a source told the paper.
‘She hates to leave her kids but she needs cash, and fast.’
The 41-year-old was forced to reveal on Twitter that she had lost her home after falling on particularly hard times, later saying on This Morning that she had had ‘the year from hell’ after splitting from her husband, relapsing back into taking drugs, and completely running out of money.
‘I thought that nearly losing my life was the worst point of my life,’ she told Phillip Schofield and Amanda Holden, ‘but I think that this year has been the worst year that I’ve ever had in my life to lose one thing after another after another.’
If Danniella does sign up for Celebrity Big Brother she’ll join a line-up already rumoured to include Katie Hopkins, Patsy Kensit, Calum Best, X Factor finalists Chloe Jasmine and Stevi Ritchie, controversial DJ Dave Lee Travis and Emmerdale star Sammy Winward.
The series – which will have a ‘twisted fairytale’ theme – is due to return to screens next month.
