EFF members arrive in large numbers for elective conference

Members of the EFF arrived in large numbers and queued for accreditation at Bohmer Secondary School in Bloemfontein on Saturday.

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) is holding its first elective conference to elect top leaders at the University of Free State’s Bloemfontein campus.

The streets near the school were a sea of red as “fighters” were loitering around waiting for their provincial leaders. Security was tight at the gate where people entering were subjected to a full body search and verification.

A SA police service nyala was parked inside the school with some officers walking around.

At least 2600 delegates from across the country were expected to attend the conference.

EFF leader Julius Malema was expected to be elected leader unopposed with all other positions being hotly contested.
