Families to get compensation from MAS soon

PETALING JAYA: Families of the crew and passengers on board MH370 will receive compensation from Malaysia Airlines soon.

MAS, in a press statement yesterday, assured the families that they would receive adequate compensation and the appointed next of kin would be contacted.

Following yesterday’s announcement that all 239 on board the flight were presumed to have lost their lives, the airline also said that it would strengthen its Family Support Centre in Kuala Lumpur to facilitate and speed up the compensation process.

The centre will be the main point of contact for all the next of kin, except China, which has its own Family Communications and Support Centre in Beijing.

Additional Mandarin-speaking personnel will be stationed in Beijing to support its operations.
