Owing to the digital revolution that has brought forth the blogging era, more people have the chance to express themselves online and communicate with their growing legion of fans.
It is due to this uptake of content that the BAKE (Bloggers Awards Kenya) was established to applaud and appreciate the best bloggers in Kenya. Last weekend saw the Airtel BAKE Awards held at the Intercontinental hotel where many gathered to witness the crowning of top bloggers. While some blogs won awards yet again since last year, others were new entrants into the scene.
Impressively it was double win for Silvia Njoki, a fashion correspondent at the Standard media group, as she won Best Fashion blogger and the Best Kenyan blog Award which is the ultimate award category. An elated Silvia thanked her fans saying “I have few followers but they are so loyal! This doesn’t happen unless God is working.”
