Three out of the 10 men arrested in connection with cigarette truck robbery in Boksburg North on Wednesday, appeared before the Boksburg Magistrate Court on Friday afternoon.
Former Bafana Bafana and Premier Soccer League player, Lebohang Morula, was charged for being found in possession of an illegal jamming device, while Sizabantu Mgadi and Obed Sithago were charged for impersonating the police.
The case was postponed to April 20 and all three were to remain in custody.
Police spokesperson, Kay Makhubela, said the seven other suspects still had to be linked to the ‘conspiracy case’. “The charges of conspiring to rob were initially in place but the court needs tangible evidence for proof.”
Makhubela said the police were satisfied with the court decision, but would oppose any bail application for Morula as he was facing several other charges including attempted murder.
