A businessman was killed by four armed men at Otiende Shopping centre in Langata on Monday morning.
Moses Muchangi, a former CID officer, was shot by criminals who raided his shop at 11.45am, Langata OCPD Elijah Mwangi said.
He said no valuables were taken from Muchangi, who was the proprietor of Rasasi transport and a Safaricom dealer, ruling out chances of a robbery.
“We still do not know the motive of the attackers, but initial investigations indicate that the armed men came to kill,” Mwangi said.
He said they are working with the CID to begin thorough investigations into the incident.
“We have possible leads to the murder because even the vehicle that was used by the men is easily traceable.”
Muchangi, who retired from the police force in 2013, died on arrival at Karen hospital where he was taken for treatment.
