Mike Sonko’s daughter, Saumu Mbuvi, graduated from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) on Thursday, June 30, 2016, where she was a student based in the Karen campus.

Her father threw her a lavish party headlined by big East African artistes and ran by some of the top event service providers in the country.

The invite-only party hosted hundreds of family and friends, as well as celebrities. During her studies, Saumu held the position of students union Vice President, hence a sizeable number of ex-schoolmates also attended the bash.

Mike Sonko expressed his joy at seeing his daughter graduate saying:

“Today is a very special day for my family. My first born daughter has finally graduated from university, she’s one of the few people who knows the real me. I sired her while I was in school when I was still a hustler. I thank God for making this possible and I shall forever be grateful. As a father, I am a very happy man. Congratulations my beloved daughter.”

The party began at 4pm with gospel artistes performances from Size 8, Ringtone, Mercy Masika, Esther Wahome, Christina Shusho and Jemimah Thiong’o, while Size 8’s husband DJ Mo was on the decks.

After 10pm, secular performers took to the stage to thrill guests. They included Jaguar, Ali Kiba, Mike Rua, Kathekani, Ken Wamaria, Lady Maureen, Sauti Sol and FBI dance crew, with Deejays Izrael and Crème on the decks.
