IG Boinett Orders 10,000 Police Recruits to Report for Training April 12

Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet has ordered 10,000 police recruits whose training was stopped by courts to report for training on Sunday next week.

Boinnet said in a statement to newsrooms that this was in compliance with President Uhuru Kenyatta directive after the terror attack on the Garissa University College on Thursday.

The recruits are supposed to report to their respective training institutions on Sunday, April 12 from 7.00am.

“Those selected to join the General Service Unit and Administration Police Service should report to the GSU training school in Embakasi and APTC in Embakasi respectively while those selected to join police should report to Kaiganjo,” he said.

He instructed all County Commanders to ensure that they coordinate with the relevant officers from the National Government so that all recruits can be reached.

President Kenyatta on Thursday ordered that the police recruits whose enrolment was stopped by the courts last year to immediately report for training.
