Samuel Munene, who is serving a life sentence, escaped from the Kenyatta National Hospital two months ago after being admitted for a week.

Speaking to journalists at the Kamiti Maximum Prison, Kenya Prisons boss Isaiah Osugo said the inmate, who has been on a wheel chair for the last eight years, surprised many when he managed to escape from his hospital bed.

Osugo further added that the two prison warders who were guarding the inmate at KNH have been charged in court for laxity while on duty.
