Three people died while 18 more were injured on Monday when a bomb placed inside a car was detonated in the Dagestan Republic, southern Russia.
RT is reporting that the incident happened near a police checkpoint in the town of Derbent.
According to the broadcaster, “Islamic State terrorists have claimed responsibility in a tweet,” while Russia’s Federal Security Service, FSB, said “a local terrorist group was used for the job.”
RT also quoted TASS as reporting that the same checkpoint was attacked the previous night when unknown assailants wounded an officer.
