Kabogo to be investigated over alleged hate speech

The Director of Public Prosecution Keriako Tobiko  has ordered immediate investigations into the alleged hate remarks uttered by Kiambu Governor William Kabogo.

The DPP has directed the CID and the National Cohesion and Integration Commission to quickly conclude the investigation and file the report with his office.

Kabogo now becomes the fifth leader in less than three months to be investigated for hate speech.

Gatundu south legislator Moses Kuria is facing charges for remarks he made in his constituency over those opposed to the NYS project, while former Nairobi Mayor George Alwada is facing  charges over remarks he made in Kibra over the outcome of the 2017 General Elections.

Machakos Senator Johnston Muthama  is also facing hate speech charges over attributed to a rally at Uhuru Park.

Chief Justice Willy Mutunga  has raised concern over the continuing trend of reckless talk by politicians warning leaders against beating the drums of war.
