Kiyiapi to run for president in 2017, urges Kenyans to pick leaders based on character

Former Education permanent secretary James Ole Kiyiapi has said he will run for president in the 2017 general election.

Speaking during his mother’s burial in Osupuko in Trans Mara on Saturday, Kiyiapi said Kenyans are yearning for servant leadership.

“It is high time that Kenyans put aside their political, religious and ethnic inclinations and chose leaders on the basis of character,” Kiyiapi said.

Kiyiapi said the greatest problem in Kenya is not terrorism or economic challenges but selfish leaders who “can auction the country given a chance”.
