During her keynote speech at the Massachusetts Conference for Women in Boston, Academy Award-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o got emotional while narrating her path to success.

Best known for her breakout role in the 2013 movie; 12 Years a Slave, Lupita Nyong’o success was well received by her global audience. It is easy for one to think her journey to the seventh heaven was a smooth ride but it wasn’t a walk in the park as many would think.

The talented actress couldn’t hold her emotions while narrating her journey to stardom; she started crying while discussing her childhood dreams of becoming an actress. She shared her story of confusion fear and self-discovery as she struggled to decide what she would do with her life.

Lupita recalled the frustrations she was faced with while struggling to accomplish her childhood dream of becoming an actress, she disclosed her passion of becoming an actress explaining how it seemed unreasonable and scary; acting definitely wasn’t a viable career for a young woman growing up in Kenya in 1980s.

Lupita encouraged her audience to pursue their dreams however intimidating or impossible they could be, she reminded them they couldn’t afford to allow their dreams to defeat them.
