The Maseno University administration block was set ablaze on Thursday morning in an attack said to have been by students.
An unknown number of them allegedly started the fire in support of students blocked from vying for positions in their union.
The institution in Kisumu county is said to have barred those who did not meet criteria amid campaigns.
