McDonalds Planning To Open Shop In Kenya

One of the biggest fast food chain stores is finally trying to set foot in Kenya. McDonalds is following the example of KFC in setting up in Kenya. It has invited investors to put in applications for a Kenyan franchise. They should have retail experience and be willing to devote all their time and knowledge onto the McDonalds restaurant business.

Franchising contracts usually require a lot of money. KFC latest store cost around Ksh90 million ($1 million) just to set up. McDonalds for sure will be looking for space in the CBD since it is the most highly people trafficked region and would lead to higher sales. Other popular areas are in popular malls, Upper Hill and Westlands.

Other big international fastfood stores are like Domino’s Pizza, Cold Stone Creamery, Subway etc. The rise in middle class population has triggered the demand for such stores
