Mugo wa Wairimu has been freed on Sh1million cash bail or Sh5million bond.
Chief magistrate Daniel Ogembo said it was ‘the right of the suspect to access bond”, but ordered Wairimu to surrender his passport to prevent him from leaving the country.
Ogembo warned Wairimu against contacting witnesses pending the determination of his case, or have his bond cancelled.
Wairimu was charged last week with 12 counts including rape, masquerading as a gynaecologist and operating a clinic without valid
licences.
He denied the charges at the Milimani law courts and remained in police custody.
The case will be heard on November 23.
