Police Commission boss Kavuludi is on EACC list

National Police Service Commission (NPSC) chairman Johnston Kavuludi and three other officials are among people named in the explosive report on corruption in the country.

Kavuludi is accused of misappropriating funds besides failing to account for money paid to him during foreign trips.

“Allegation into financial impropriety, misappropriation, abuse of office at the National Police Service Commission; made various trips abroad and not accounted for funds,” reads the EACC confidential report.

The commission’s Chief Executive Officer in 2013, James Muhoro is also accused of financial impropriety during the partitioning of the NPSC offices in Westlands.
Commissioner Ronald Musengi is also under investigations over the Konza and Malili Ranch alongside Bitange Ndemo who served as Information Permanent Secretary in the Kibaki era.

The matter is currently in court.

The Ethic and Anti-Corruption Commission is also investigating police officers who are accused of “dealing with suspect property contrary to section 47 (1) (2) (a) as read with section 48(1) of the anti-corruption and economic crimes act no. 3 of 2003.”

Deputy Commissioner Garissa County Dominic Kyenza is also being probed over allegations of mis-appropriation of relief food in the county.
