President Kenyatta Launches – Make It Kenya – in Italy

President Uhuru Kenyatta, Wednesday officially launched Make it Kenya, a new international brand campaign that has been introduced by the Ministry of East African Affairs, Commerce and Tourism (MEAACT) to promote and enhance Kenya’s position as a global leader in tourism, commerce and investment.

President Kenyatta, who is in Milan to lead the celebrations for Expo Milano’s dedicated Kenya week, launched the new campaign at at Kenya House, an extension of Kenya’s Expo pavilion in the centre of Milan.

In addition to the new campaign brand, the launch included the activation of a new digital portal MakeItKenya.com and supporting social media platforms.

The digital elements have been specifically designed as a source of rich sharable content that will connect the world to Kenya, through people’s computers, smart phones and digital devices.

During the launch, President Kenyatta posted the first messages to Make It Kenya’s social media platforms and called on the people of Kenya to support the campaign: “Make It Kenya is an exciting development and I applaud the Ministry of East African Affairs, Commerce and Tourism and Brand Kenya for the timing and their bold and innovative approach for driving Kenya’s story to the world.

“Kenya’s global profile has never been stronger – we have successfully hosted global leaders, our athletes have taken on and beaten the world and people from around the world are preparing to join us in celebrating Kenya week at the World Expo – so it is our collective responsibility and duty to support the aims and vision of our country.
