PRIVATE CAPE TOWN COLLEGE: 46 STUDENTS GUILTY OF CHEATING

An investigation found that candidates were assisted during several exams.

The Western Cape Education Department confirmed that 46 students had been found guilty of cheating during last year’s matric exams at a private college in Cape Town.

MEC Debbie Schafer said disciplinary hearings would now take place at the Athlone campus of Stonefountain College over the next two weeks.

Schafer explained she was awaiting the outcome of a final disciplinary meeting.

“We are still waiting on the outcome of the disciplinary hearings, which will be happening in the next week or two. There has been an internal report which I have seen.”
