Fashion designer Wambui Mukenyi recently released her lookbook for Fall/Winter 2015 collection. It’s a classy red and black affair that deserves to take up space in any female closet.

Her black and red pieces are very distinct with their hand-embroidered designs that blend in flawlessly with the fabric.

Mukenyi’s usage of stretch fabric in the collection generates a strong appeal to women of all shapes and sizes in complimenting the African woman’s figure. Every piece and detail in the collection illustrates the designer’s love for luxurious fabric, whilst at the same time infusing her African heritage to produce timeless yet feminine and effortlessly stylish pieces.

“Black and red pieces are a must in each and every person’s closets as it gives one that simple yet elegant look and with this collection, I am sure all the ladies will gain interest in it”, she says.

There is certain modern sophistication to the pieces showcased in this collection, compared to the previous Holiday collection. Mukenyi tones down on colours and highlights an official and classy touch featuring both long and short dresses, ideal for the office and a night out.

The lookbook was worked on by the most talented people in the industry featuring creative photographer Victor Peace, Sunny Dolat as the stylist, Phoina as the make-up artist and two gorgeous models, Sarah Hassan and Rahel Equbay.

Mukenyi’s idea in branding the collection was to make the ordinary woman feel comfortable but at the same time fashionable without spending a fortune. Wambui Mukenyi is a Kenyan brand founded in 2009 and is the brainchild of a self-taught designer.
