Rita Ora being lined up for Tyra’s Top Model job

Rita Ora is reportedly being lined up to take over from Tyra Banks as the host of the long-running reality show America’s Next Top Model.

The show was axed last October after 22 seasons but it’s now rumoured that a revamped version of the series would feature Ora at the helm.

The singer, who quit the judging panel of The X Factor so she could concentrate on her music career, is said to be over the moon at landing such a high-profile gig in the US.

“Rita is in a dream world as she’s landed the ultimate gig”, a source told The Sunnewspaper.

“She’ll be mixing her two passions of fashion and music and taking over from a TV institution in Tyra.

Next Top Model bosses wanted to inject some freshness back into the format and they see Rita as the ideal new face. She is releasing a new single later this year to coincide with it.”

Banks, who created the series in 2003 and served as host for the whole run, is expected to remain on board as executive producer for the revamped show. Earlier this year, she spoke about the revamp and welcomed the prospect of a new host.

“I’m pumped to identify that person and bring back the show. Top Model fans, you demanded that the show come back and VH1 answered the call. Get ready for a fierce-a-fied rebirth!”
