Star Wars Battlefront: Why Xbox One owners are getting EA title early ahead of PS4

MICROSOFT has revealed how Xbox One fans can get their hands on Star Wars Battlefront ahead of PS4 owners.

Xbox executive Aaron Greenberg has confirmed that the new epic space shooter will be playable first through EA Access on Xbox One.

Revealing the news on Twitter, Greenberg wrote: “Very ready & play it first on #XboxOne!”

It is still not known how far in advance Xbox One fans will be able to play the game, and if there will be a time limit placed on how many hours can be blasted through.

This was the format for how Battlefield Hardline appeared on the service.

EA Access games in the past have been made available for five days prior to launch.

The scheme is currently available via a £3.99 monthly subscription, or by paying £19.99 for the entire year.

More news is expected to land later this week for the new Battlefront title, including a reveal trailer.

The promo is part of this month’s Star Wars Celebration kicking off on April 16 in California and will premiere at the event.

A retail listing from a European branch of Gamestop had reportedly revealed the 2015 release date of Star Wars: Battlefront.

The long awaited shooter will be launched close to the debut of Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens, according to the new information.

The release date has been listed as December 10 2015, a week ahead of the new movie hitting cinemas.

Developed by DICE, Star Wars: Battlefront is set for launch on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
