UN concerned about C. African Republic clashes

UNITED NATIONS, Safar 30, 1436, Dec 22, 2014, SPA — The United Nations mission in Central African Republic says it is concerned about weekend confrontations that included armed clashes with U.N. peacekeepers.

A statement Monday says one local fighter and one civilian were killed Saturday in a clash with peacekeepers in the town of Berberati. It also says one peacekeeper and one civilian were injured Sunday in a confrontation between fighters and peacekeepers in the town of Nola, and that the town of Bataganfo is tense Monday after two fighters were killed by a rival armed group.

According to AP, the U.N. mission also says it has received reports of fighting between armed groups near the town of Bambari on Saturday that left three fighters and four civilians dead
