Cord leader Raila Odinga, Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho and several members of the opposition fell down in front of hundreds of their supporters after the podium they were on collapsed in Malindi
A number of Cord leaders, led by Raila Odinga, learnt a cruel lesson on gravitational pull after pushing their podium beyond its limit.
The leaders, on Thursday, March 24, fell to the ground after their visibly overcrowded dais collapsed in Malindi.
Raila Odinga falling incident, which most of the opposition leaders would wish to have go unnoticed, was recorded on video by one of the rally attendants. Here is the video of Raila Odinga fall:
Raila, and his co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula, were in Malindi apparently to accompany coalition members who had been instructed to record statements with the police.
Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, and others, had been ordered to record statements on a stripping incident during the March 7, Malindi by-election. Police later cancelled the appointment with Joho citing security threats.
