xenophobia

A Livingstone based Zambian businessman fleeing from xenophobic attacks in South Africa has narrated the horrific and gruesome scenes in that country.

Eric Lungu has told ZNBC news that he had traveled to Johannesburg, South Africa to buy motor vehicle spare parts on Saturday and was awakened by loud noises outside the flat he was staying in.

Mr. Lungu says he peeped through the window and saw a group of people armed with knives chase and attack a foreign black man who later died.

He says out of fear he managed to flee leaving all his goods and arrived back home today.

Mr. Lungu has advised Zambians who still want to travel to South Africa to exercise some patience and wait until the situation calms down.
