Zuma’s son fails to pay maintenance – Reports

CAPE TOWN – The mother of President Jacob Zuma’s grandchild says she’s being treated unjustly because authorities have failed to arrest Zuma’s son for not paying child maintenance.

According to weekend reports the president’s eldest son, Eduard, has failed to appear in court over six times on charges of child maintenance.

A warrant of arrest was issued in June last year when Eduard repeatedly didn’t show up to court.

According to reports it was recorded that the president’s son was temporarily absent when he didn’t pitch at his court appearance on 6 March 2014.

He was then subpoenaed and failed to pitch a further six times.

A warrant of his arrest was issued by the Durban Maintenance Court and delivered to Durban north police, however nobody served it.

The police claim it was apparently misplaced.

Authorities say they are running an investigation into whether the warrant was received in the first place as they have no knowledge of it.

Eduard says he has no knowledge about the charges.
