Truth be told, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with what Iyanya has done; it’s a normal thing to want to build your fan base in other regions.
A certain Kenyan artiste named Charles Njagua Kanyi aka Jaguar, is accusing Iyanya of exploiting him and working with him just to gain popularity in East Africa.
Jaguar told a Kenyan publication that his collaboration with Iyanya on ‘One Centimeter” remix is not getting any airplay in Nigeria and Mr Oreo didn’t do anything to make sure the song has presence in Nigeria.
Jaguar said Iyanya decided to work with him just because of the fame, and that the singer wants to gain popularity in East Africa.
He also made reference to an artiste, Sauti Sol who collaborated with Iyanya on “Sura Yako” remix and the song hardly got played in Nigeria.
Charles revealed that the “Kukere” singer wants the video to be shot in Nigeria and directed by Clarence Peters, he said he agreed for the video to be shot in Nigeria but it will be directed by a Kenyan director named Thome.
