President Edgar Lungu has been discharged from a Pretoria Hospital in South Africa.
Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda said the Head of State who was admitted to a Pretoria Hospital was discharged today after specialist doctors certified him fit to resume his duties.
Mr Chanda said the President underwent a successful medical procedure yesterday on March 13, 2015.
He said the President is working on arrangements for his return to Lusaka.
President Lungu was admitted at a Pretoria hospital where he underwent a theatre procedure yesterday to correct his achalasia, a condition of the narrowing of the food pipe which caused him to fall ill during the celebrations of the International Women’s Day on March 8 at the Heroes stadium in Lusaka.
The President left the country for specialist treatment on Tuesday, 10th March.
