Over 100 NYS recruits injured in a stampede at Gilgil

Ten recruits from National Youth Service training college in Gilgil are fighting for their lives following an early morning stampede in the institution.

During the Monday morning incident, over 100 students and senior officers were left suffering from soft tissue injuries.

Some sources alleged of a blast in the institution as the students were on morning parade leading to the mad-rush an allegation the management denied.

Ten of the seriously injured recruits were later transferred to Rift Valley PGH suffering from fractures while the rest were treated and discharged.
